VDI 2230: Systematic Calculation of High Duty Bolted Joints.

DE84003447

Publication Date 1984
Page Count 155
Abstract The guideline VDI 2230 deals with bolted joints which are to bear static or alternating working loads and which are to be created using high-strength bolts. The guideline should be used above all for joints the failure of which can cause serious damage. The specifications in this guideline are valid for steel bolts within the temperature range of -40 exp 0 C to 300 exp 0 C in which neither embrittlement due to cold nor creep stress of the bolt steels is expected. Above 120 exp 0 C the adjusted material characteristics must be used for calculations. (ERA citation 09:005084)
