National Technical Reports Library - NTRL

National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract A comprehensive scheme of autoxidative cytotoxicity is presented. Clarification of the direct reactions of O sub 2- and H sub 2 O with lipids and new evidence for copper-dependent catalysis of OH production is taken into account. The question is raised as to whether metal-independent reaction of H sub 2 O sub 2 might be significant in vivo. Emphasis is placed on the likely modes of propagating cytotoxicity at a distance.
