National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract Small-scale safety testing has been completed on 3,3-diamino 4,4-azoxyfurazan (DAAF). The relative sensitivity of DAAF against various stimuli was evaluated. DAAF shows no observable sensitivity to friction or static spark. It has impact sensitivity approaching that of TATB. Using the One Dimensional Time to Explosion (ODTX) apparatus to measure thermal response, DAAF shows similar sensitivity to TNT and HMX. DSC and the CRT were also used to evaluate the thermal stability of DAAF under various conditions.
