National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract The objectives of this program were: (1) To develop and demonstrate a new polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system that operates up to 160DG deg. C temperatures and at ambient pressures for stationary power applications, and (2) To determine if the GTI-molded composite graphite bipolar separator plate could provide long term operational stability at 160DGC or higher. This report presents the results of this program in three main parts: (1) Molded Graphite Separator Plate Properties; (2) Polymer Production and MEA Fabrication; and (3) MEA Performance Test Results.
