Abstract Environment, safety and health (ES&H) are priority considerations in the planning and execution of work related to the National Ignition Facility (NIF) Project at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The management of the NIF Project is committed to providing a safe work environment for all NIF workers and to protecting the public from hazards associated with the construction and operation of the NIF. All work related to NIF construction and parallel operations during the construction period will be performed in a manner that protects the safety of the individual worker, preserves the quality of the environment, and prevents property damage.
