National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract The measurements of the mass of the W boson (MW ) and of the top quark (Mt ) are important for three reasons: (i) these masses represent fundamental parameters of the Standard Model; (ii) they determine the coupling between the top quark and the Higgs boson, the coupling being proportional to M2 t =M2 W; and (iii) radiative corrections relate the masses of the W, top quark and the Higgs boson: an accurate measurement of MW and Mt would provide a constraint on the Higgs mass (MH ).
