Abstract |
The Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility (ERDF) is a multi-celled burial trench authorized under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 and is used for the disposal of radioactive, hazardous/dangerous, and mixed waste generated during waste management/site remediation activities at the Hanford Site. This document provides the auditable safety analysis, which includes the final hazard classification, for ERDF. This document identifies and evaluates the operational and natural phenomena hazards of ERDF (including transport of soil and materials to ERDF). The appropriate programmatic and activity-specific controls that serve to protect the worker, the public, and the environment are identified. |
