Abstract |
Battelle's5 Medical Research and Evaluation Facility (MREF) successfully maintained and functioned in compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations for developing and improving medical countermeasures against military relevant chemical agents. Ten task orders were proposed and/or developed. In Task 0002, 146 Task Assignment Sheets were completed. In Task 0003, 90 and 83 rTSP candidates were tested against HD vapor and GD vapor breakthrough, respectively, using a penetration cell model (Module 1); and 13, 12, 13 candidates were evaluated in the MS paper test for HD, GD, Vx liquid breakthrough, respectively (Module 2). Additionally, dose optimization studies in the rabbit model were completed for Module's 5&%. The final report for Task 0006 was accepted for technical functional testing of multi-chamber autoinjectors. In Task 0007, cDNA expression array sets have been completed for HD exposed mouse skin at 0.16, 0.08, and 0.04 mg HD. For Task 0008, Phase I final report to USAMMDA, and Task Execution Plan for experimental procedures and data package for premarket notification to FDA for the Canadian Reactant Skin Decontaminate Lotion (RSDL)were completed. MREF staff attended 11 scientific conferences or training courses, and delivered 23 posters or presentations at 3 internationallv attended scientific meetinos. |
