Abstract Previous work having shown that the addition of one percent of carbazole to Pentolite improved its stability in the 100 C. Vacuum Stability Test without affecting its sensitivity to initiation or brisance, it was recommended that storage tests at 65 C. be conducted on Pentolite, Ednatol and Tetrytol with and without one percent of carbazole. Samples of these explosive mixtures were therefore placed in storage at 65 C. The brisance, sensitivity to initiation and stability were determined after six months at this temperature and it was concluded that no significant change in these characteristics had occurred. The present report covers the results of similar tests after storage at 65 C. for one year.
