Abstract The report is a compilation of work unit summaries of the investigative efforts of fiscal year 1972. These work units are devoted to basic and applied research in skin diseases of military importance; the effects of hemorrhagic shock on the heart and brain; the development of the early management of complex maxillofacial wounds and injuries; to identify diseases of the oral maxillofacial tissues which are of special importance to the field soldier and to obtain basin information on these problems; advising, guiding, supporting, and encouraging clinical research at Letterman General Hospital.
