National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract Supplementing RM-1543, values of the equilibrium composition and thermodynamic properties of air are presented at two additional temperatures, 10,000 and 50,000K. The pure ideal-gas properties needed for these calculations are included. Equilibrium values for the principal charged particles at 1000 and 2000K, and for the CN molecule between 1000 and 8000K are also listed. Finally, the thermodynamic properties of air between 1000 and 10,000K at high densities (10 to 316 times standard density) are tabulated. These properties are calculated to include approximate corrections for the intermolecular interactions. (Author)
